VICSERV undertakes both small and large projects designed to build the capacity of members in service delivery, strategic planning and advocacy. Projects are informed by steering committees and consultation with members via surveys and other feedback mechanisms. Research undertaken, as part of the projects, contributes to the evidence base around the value of community managed mental health services.

Organisational Capability Framework Project For Mental Health Community Support Services

DHHS provided project funding to support Psychiatric Disability Services of Victoria (VICSERV) to implement the draft Capability Framework in partnership with its member organisations. VICSERV conducted a base-line survey to assess the capabilities of representative member organisations before full implementation of the capabilities across MHCSS.

Learn and Build in Barwon

As part of VICSERV’s commitment to building the capacity of mental health organisations around the implementation of the NDIS, VICSERV will be releasing a series of reports that describe the experiences of mental health consumers, carers, workers, and organsiations under full-scheme NDIS. A report for each roll-out region will be released, examining unanswered and ongoing issues and identifying new or localised issues as the Scheme progresses across Victoria.
